The team are proud to be one of only a handful of Dental Phobia certified practices in the UK. Dr Sayed and Dr Sunba both trained at Guys Dental Hospital in helping severely anxious and dental phobic patients. The patient experience is designed to promote relaxation, with music and movies available during treatments and the latest equipment to avoid patient discomfort.
Dr Imran Sayed and Dr Dahlia Sunba were Apollo clients whose practice we previously fitted out next door. When the new unit became available, they contacted us to discuss a knock-through, refurbishment of the existing space and a complete fit out of the new area.
Before starting the build, we created a space plan, interior design scheme, building regs and infrastructure designs for the new clinic.
The new premises featured a basement which wasn’t up to the required standard for use. We installed new tanking and ventilation to make it habitable and CQC-compliant.
Where the old reception was located, we installed a new surgery. The ground floor of the new unit was then converted into a new reception and waiting area.
To add character to the interior of the new reception (in keeping with the age of the property and the high ceilings), we added bespoke panelling and a ceiling rose with a large feature pendant light.
A new front door, side panels and traditional black and white tiling outside the entrance further enhances the period effect.
The end result is a traditional but chic practice, with new equipment and infrastructure throughout. The practice has grown from a two surgery squat practice to a very well established four surgery practice and we hope to work with Imran and Dahlia again in the future.
