Fauna is a new concept of veterinary care set up by founders Priya Bhagani and and Punit Rawal.
Their revolutionary new clinic in Northwood, London, is designed to minimise stress for pets and their owners.
How is this achieved? Well, it’s all been planned with animal-wellbeing in mind.
Dogs and cats are segregated to avoid any over-excitement or upset – starting with separate cat and dog waiting areas (cleverly partitioned with some bespoke seating units) and ending with species-specific boarding rooms. There are even calming scents and music being piped into the rooms to help maintain a relaxing atmosphere.
It’s clear that the pets are at the heart of the design of Fauna veterinary clinic. Details like integrated treat dispensers at the reception desk and dog-friendly flooring by Floors for Paws mean a trip to the vet’s is as positive an experience as possible.
The 2000 sqft clinic occupies a former hairdressing salon in the centre of Northwood and has two floors.
A reception area and two consultation rooms are located on the ground floor.
The basement level – accessed by a staircase and dog-lift – houses the animal boarding areas, operating theatre, large open plan treatment area and imaging room.
The project took 14 weeks in total and involved designing and creating:
The fit out also included full mechanical and electrical installation, air conditioning and full medical gas installation.
Burtons Veterinary provided the medical equipment.
“Project Manager, Andrew, and Foreman, Dean, were wonderful to work with as well as the rest of the Apollo team. They work extremely hard and with great care. This was our first building project and we were lucky to have such a good experience. We will certainly be using Apollo again for our next veterinary practice and would highly recommend to all our family and friends. Thank you Apollo!”
