PANTONE Colour of the Year 2024

For the past 25 years, PANTONE have been leading the way with their annual choice of colour to reflect our current mood and state of being.  PANTONE Colour of the Year 2024 is 13-1023 Peach Fuzz.

Last year’s colour was the vibrant Viva Magenta – inspired by the bright red of Cochineal and reflective of emerging from the pandemic with a sense of resurgence.

This year’s colour is a much softer hue – PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz – a nurturing, warm shade.  The comforting peach tone brings a moment of self-reflection and comfort in our busy lives.

What PANTONE Colour of the Year 2024 reflects about our world today

When turmoil is present in many aspects of our lives, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a colour designed to help us find moments of respite.  It taps into our need for mindfulness and to retreat from our hectic lifestyles.  The softness also reflects our need for a sense of community and the importance of coming together with friends and family.

The colour is also associated with tactility – the concept of a peach immediately conjures up the fuzzy, velvety texture of peach skin and a cocooning warmth.  It’s a colour that you want to reach out and touch.

Isn’t peach, well, a bit retro?

For many of us, the colour peach immediately takes us back to the peach interiors of the 1980s.

PANTONE haven’t shied away from this retro association.  On the contrary, they see it as a positive connection to a different era and simpler way of life.  But long gone are the days of the peach bathroom suite!

Where should we be incorporating PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz?

PANTONE’s colour of the year is already showing up in a lot of places, including rugs, wallpaper, fabric, makeup, tea and more.
