Salary: £25,000.00 to £30,000.00 p.a.

Construction Estimator for high-end healthcare, dentistry and residential design & build company

Key responsibilities:

  • Obtaining opportunities to tender for projects from in-house designers, architects, building surveyors, developers, tender portals.
  • Meeting with clients/ client representatives to better understand project requirements before construction.
  • Obtaining tender prices from suppliers and contractors.
  • Producing and pricing schedules of work.
  • Identify additional entitlement under the contract including the monitoring of daily records.
  • Identify, input and manage variations during running projects.
  • Ensure that good records are kept so that the full entitlement under the contract is achieved.
  • Assist in oversight of spending on in-house and sub-contractor labours, materials and procurements.
  • Complete take offs from drawings/ sketches/ illustrations.
  • Creating cost evaluations from in-house tender documents.
  • Assist with the preparation of contractual claims.

Key skills:

  • Experience working in the industry, including visits to site.
  • Proficient use of IT (Microsoft Office, Excel).
  • Excellent and succinct communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and using own initiative.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence.
